On 12 October 2018 Axis secured planning permission for the North Beck Energy Centre, a £220 million Energy from Waste development project at Immingham. It will generate 49.5 MW (megawatts) of electricity from waste material that would otherwise be destined for landfill disposal in the UK, or exported as fuel to energy plants in mainland Europe.

Axis has managed all planning and design aspects of the project from inception through to the grant of consent. The company prepared a full EIA and Transport Assessment in support of the scheme which was approved by North Lincolnshire Council under officer delegated powers.
